Drawn to the inconsequential, overlooked elements and details in the crossover spaces between our urban and natural environments, I hope my work encourages us to take note of the small things, in the places that surround and shape us.  With my organic approach to printmaking, a sense of narrative forms from the moment of transfer to paper and my work becomes a visual inquiry of ways these two worlds co-exist and collide.  Often embracing abstract compositions in contrast with elements collected and used directly from nature, without much interference from my hand, encourages the potential open to chance.  I generally choose not to create editions and much of my work remains as unique, one-off pieces.  There may be subtle variations, reminiscent of the constancy of time and perpetual change.

Recent work uses screen printed layers of saturated and translucent shapes to explore the weight and shifting mood of colour - echoed by elements of our urban & natural spaces.  Collecting a series of found or displaced materials to expose directly to the screen, the works capture an interplay between a suggestion of three-dimensional form creating tension with blocks of colour.

The relation of my work to our environment and our intrinsic connections to nature are vital to the integrity of the work itself.  I feel our interior spaces can be a source of celebration of this universality.

Ever conscious of how every part of my process can be as sustainable as possible, all my packaging is now 100% biodegradable and plastic free.

I have exhibited and demonstrated at The Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, member shows at Edinburgh Printmaker's and become a new member of Visual Arts Scotland.
